Illinois Concealed Carry Course:

The Illinois Concealed Carry course meets and exceeds the Illinois State Police requirements needed to apply for an Illinois Concealed Carry permit. This course is 16+ hours long when taken in its entirety, but Illinois does give credit for prior training. Topics covered in this class include: The four universal safety rules, different pistol types, loading and unloading different pistol types, ammunition components, ammunition malfunctions, how to clear ammunition malfunctions, home storage, vehicle storage, public storage, proper grip, proper stance, aiming fundamentals, trigger control, cleaning, the FOID act (430 ILCS 65) the Illinois Concealed Carry act (430 ILCS 66), legal use of force (720 ILCS 5/7-1 thru 4) and more. Students must pass a shooting qualification. Course of fire is a total of 30 rounds. 10 rounds fired at 5 yards, 10 rounds fired at 7 yards and 10 rounds fired at 10 yards. Completion of the full 16 hours allows the student to apply for permits in Illinois, Florida, and Utah.
